Staz Charlie Blood is a powerful vampire who rules the Eastern region of Demon World. According to rumors, he is a dry and ruthless beast, but in reality, Staz is just a scoundrel who cares about Japanese culture and has nothing to do with human blood. Leaving the management of his place to his subordinates, Staz spends his days wandering around, indulging in anime, manga and games. When a Japanese girl, Fuyumi Yanagi, accidentally wanders around in a section leading to a world of demons, Staz is thrilled. But as he begins to feel a strange attraction to her, his field is invaded, leading to Fuyumi's premature death. She becomes a wandering ghost and Staz vow to resurrect her as this could help him to be able to travel to the human world, something he had always dreamed of. The Blood Lad follows Staz and Fuyumi, soon joined by local magician Bell and Wolf-half-werewolf, as they embark on a search for magic that can bring people back to life.

Staz is the most powerful local vampire boss in Demon World. Unlike his vampire ancestors, he prefers to not hunt people, and would really like to interact in their Japanese otaku way of learning manga, watching anime, and playing video games. One day, she is thrilled when Fuyumi Yanagi, a typical Japanese girl, accidentally wanders into Demon World via a portal. The first meeting of the two has been interrupted by a demonic attack. When Staz is about to exorcise a demon, Fuyumi is killed by a carnivorous plant and turns into a ghost. Staz takes responsibility and makes promises to help bring him back to life. When they took the site, they learned that Fuyumi needed to drink Staz's blood to keep it from flowing. They meet Hydra Bell, a treasure hunter who demonstrates his ability to open and shut a stolen site, which so as to urge Fuyumi back they have a Resurrection Book.
After challenging his friend Wolf, the manager of Demon World West, he learns that Bell has the Book, but Staz needs to get his older brother Brazil to interpret for him. Braz agrees to interpret the book as long as Staz stops Papradon Akim, a creature that tears down his fallen enemies and uses body parts to enhance himself and his skills. Meanwhile, Wolf and scientist Franken Stein (who created Akim) are trying to find a replacement for Fuyumi. After Wolf fights Akim and Staz defeats Akim, Braz hires Franken Stein to work secretly on another creature.
Fuyumi is picked up by Bell's brother Knell and brought to his mother Neyn, who reveals that he's a mix of Bell's mother and Fuyumi's mother, making the 2 girls sisters. Neyn asks Staz if he will take care of Fuyumi, which Staz agrees, so he lets her go, only to later send a team of assassins called Team Fearless to hunt down Staz. Meanwhile, Demon World Acropolis police, Beros and Goyle arrested Brazilian in a plot to overthrow the demon-possessed king of the world, Wolf Daddy. Braz escapes but agrees to bring Wolf Daddy a challenge to the throne. He puts the heart of Akim on the body of his late father and former king Richarz and revives it. Richarz, however, is not the feeling of a fight with Wolf Daddy.
Braz and Staz found that Richarz and Wolf Daddy had sealed the sign of the demon king Herrschaft Grimm behind the door, but that it was too strong. Akim was able to rejuvenate and regain his heart, kill Richarz and then absorb Grimm's plot to become the new king of the Demons. Wolf Daddy and the gang were forced to flee, while Braz remained as Akim's servant. Staz and Wolf wanted to return the throne to Akim, so they began training under one of Wolf Daddy's old friends White Step. Akim creates a team of agents to harvest many parts of the body so that they can grow stronger. To minimize this expansion, Wolf Daddy offers Akim to fight a group of demons on a blacklist, a list of the most powerful criminals hidden and their existence erased from history. Akim agrees, and Wolf Daddy arranges for the demons with black names to come and train.
