After the successful end of the Fourth World War Shinobi, Konohagakure has been enjoying a period of peace, prosperity, and extraordinary technological advances. This is all due to the efforts of the Allied Shinobi Forces and the Seventh Hokage of the area, Naruto Uzumaki. Now like a modern big city, Konohagakure has changed, especially the life of a shinobi. Under the watchful eye of Naruto and his old comrades, a new generation of shinobi has stepped up to learn the ways of a ninja. Boruto Uzumaki is often the center of attention as the son of Seokth Hokage. Despite having inherited Naruto's legacy of rebellion and stubbornness, Boruto is regarded as an intelligent man and able to unleash his power with the help of friends and family who support him. Unfortunately, this only exacerbated his arrogance and his desire to surpass Naruto, coupled with his father's busy life, which diminished their relationship. It opens with a teenager Boruto Uzumaki facing an enemy named Kawaki during the destruction of his village, the lie follows by recounting events at Boruto: Naruto the Movie with additional content.
[2] Being the son of Seventh Hokage Naruto Uzumaki, Boruto feels angry about his father putting the city in front of his family. At that time, Boruto became a member of a ninja gang led by Naruto defender Konohamaru Sarutobi, as well as Sarada Uchiha, daughter of Sasuke and Sakura Uchiha, and Mitsuki, Orochimaru's artificial son. When Sasuke returns to the village to warn Naruto of the impending threat of reducing Kaguya Otsutsuki's ambitions, Boruto urges Sasuke to train him for the upcoming Chunin trial to please his father.
During the test, Momoshiki Otsutsuki and Kinshiki Otsutsuki - the threat Sasuke mentioned - appeared and kidnapped Naruto to use Kurama, a beast with a tail stuck inside his body, to revive the dying tree of God from a distance. Boruto joins Sasuke and the four Kage - leaders of other ninja locations - to rescue Naruto. On the next trip, Boruto acts as a bodyguard for Fire Daimyo's son Tento, where the two find a relationship they both want to be accepted by their father. When a gang known as Mujina kidnapped Tento, Boruto rescued him and the gang leader was arrested for allegedly knowing about the sign that Momoshiki had put on Boruto. Naruto and another learned that there was a group called "Kara", looking for people with symptoms called Karma. Boruto's team meets Kawaki who fled to Kara, a boy who also has Karma. Kawaki becomes a foster member of the Uzumaki family to protect him. However, in an attempt to protect Kawaki, Naruto and Sasuke were defeated by Kara's leader, Jigen, who kept Naruto away while Sasuke escaped. Team 7 saves Naruto when Boruto's Karma causes him to be invaded by Momoshiki.
After hearing about this, Sasuke finds out that all Karma users will be taken over by the Otsutsuki family, including Jigen. Meanwhile, the Kara rebellion begins, with Koji Kashin challenging Jigen while Amado travels to Konoha for asylum for information, revealing that Kara's real leader is actually Isshiki Otsutsuki, who has been in charge of Jigen since Kaguya's betrayal when they came to Earth thousands of years ago, and that Karma allows the Otsutsuki family to wake up with the body of the host. Although Koji kills Jigen, forcing Isshiki to be born again incomplete while Kawaki's Karma is removed, Isshiki forces Koji to step back and leave to attack Konoha.
As Shiki arrives in Konoha, he is looking for Kawaki. Naruto faces him head on, preparing for battle. Boruto takes himself and Isshiki to another place away from home with Sasuke and Naruto following. Since Boruto is a vessel of Momoshiki, Isshiki plans to supply him with ten tails so that a divine tree can be planted. With Naruto's new power, Baryon Mode, he defeats Isshiki before Kawaki deceives him, causing Isshiki to die, but by losing Kurama's life. Boruto, led by Momoshiki, destroys Sasuke's Rinnegan. However, Sasuke and Kawaki confronted Momoshiki until Boruto recovered. After the defeat, Isshiki asks Code, who was in charge of the Ten-Tails, to continue Otsutsuki's will by donating a Boruto or Kawaki to the Ten-Tails, and eating the fruits of the chakra, becoming Otsutsuki himself.
Code swears revenge on Isshiki, following Naruto, Sasuke, Kawaki and Boruto. He visits Boro's hiding place and without killing the guards. He then proceeded to release one of the strongest cyborgs created by Amado which was to be discarded. Cyborg Eida, agrees to help Code kill Naruto if he protects Kawaki's life so that they can love each other normally because his seductive power prevents him from finding the right love. Since his power does not work for Otsutsuki, and Kawaki and Boruto are already part of them, he can see for himself. Code agrees to save Kawaki and use Boruto as a sacrifice to plant chakra fruit after killing Naruto with the help of Eida.
